I LOVE IT!!!! the joke sucks though, It’s the comments that are more amusing than anything else. I actually lived up in the Arctic during the Cold war. From what was happening we didn’t really have a choice for the americans to set up their dew lines and test their missles over the Mckenzie river basin. They were so focused on the red threat it was more like WE WILL BE STAYING THERE, if canada disputed there would’ve been quite a mess, but hey, when it comes into getting in the americans way when something is threatening them (like those commie bastards) I’m not standin in their way.

Oh, and I do agree that the USSR would have been a bad thing for Canada if it had taken over world politics in the 1950’s and 1960’s. I’m glad that they didn’t get a foothold in North America (beyond Cuba). But that is because of the strength of JFK’s PEACEFUL solution, not because of agression. My point wasn’t that Canada fended off the Russians (what gave you that idea?) My point is that being PEACEFUL requires great strength of character.

Some of the comments are completely digusting, sad, and really quite useless. Both Canada and the U.S. are beautiful, wonderful countries, full of rich cultures and fascinating history. They are also deeply intertwined in politics, history, and current affairs. My personal family fought in the the american revolution, civil war, crossed the Oregon Trail, then decided to settle in Canada. I’m very proud of being a Canadian, but I’m also proud of my history. Canadians don’t have the right to be so aloof, we do have our own social problems, but neither do Americans. I came here to laugh at my own culture, now others. Some of the jokes were bad enough, but the comments were worse. Please realize that we need to work together as countries, and as people. Keep all your b.s. to yourselves, it’s not really productive or helpful. |
