2000 v6 mustang vs 2000 v6 camaro.

| to me i think the mustang v6 will win becuase i have a v6 mustang and a camaro but to me the mustang gots way more balls and there both standard plus i feel more of a kick on the mustang......i raced like about two camaros with my v6 mustang and i leave them like up to my door and with the v6 camaro i lost against 1 mustang and firebird so tell me what u guys think. who really wins.!!!!!!!!!! |

I have a 2000 mustang V6, I have several friends who have camaro V6 . We race all the time and its always close, but the mustang has came out on top most of the time. The only mods I have are an air intake and Catback exhaust system. And for all the people talking about thier V8 whatever can do 6,7,8 seconds...FYI...The discussion is about V6 mustangs and V6 camaros. Get a clue and stop using ALL CAPS, Morons! |

NO NO NO...I have a 98 v6 Camaro and ive never been beat by a v6 Mustang you guys are nuts. My best friend has a 2000 v6 mustang we bought our cars around the same time and ive beat him every time we have ever raced. I beat him really bad on the highway. So no man your wrong if you beat a camaro its because he didnt know how to drive. Also a standard vs a automatic in the 1/8th the standard is faster depending on the driver. Remember dumb ass Ford could make 200hp with their v6s until Chevy had theirs out a couple of years already. Well first a 90 camaro has a 3.1 at 140 HP if your not racing a 3.8 at 200 and you have a 3.8 your full of shit and the shit talker is you. If the camaro you race was a 3.4 at 160 or a 3.1 and you raced him with a 3.8 thats the only way you win. Period. I have a3.8 and ill be glad to race you any day ill even race your ass if you have a 05 rustang v6. Cause rustangs strait out SUCK..... HO! |

Well, I have read some the comments and reviewed them in this particular forum and since I have been a performance mechanic for 11 years this is the bottom line. The 3.4 litre not liter camaros have a 0-60 real time of 7.6 seconds. the 3.8 mustangs have a time of 7.1 seconds and the 3.8 camaros have a time of 6.7 period
As the one DUDE says they all have the potential of your wallet!

2002, supercharged V6 Mustang. NOS system and K&N Intake. Straight flow dual exhaust. Cobra Chip custom tune by my local performance shop. Running 373hp (on the dyno and over 400hp with the NOS) and 0-60 in less than 5.3 seconds. Full Saleen 7 peices fiberglass body kit to lighten the car. I know my Stang will rape your little old cars and new cars no problem. Don’t talk stock, talk custom losers. And also, the Viper will rape the Charger no problem. Don’t compare a performance car to a redneck’s ’automobile’. Don’t underestimate a Mustang, they will tear your cars appart. I know for a fact a GT will rape a WRX. Not sure about a V6. But it doesn’t matter, MY V6 will rape anything it comes against (except Lambs and Ferrari’s but thats a whole other class). |

mustang all the way... i have a 2000 v6 mustang manual with 114,000 miles on it and my friend has a 95’ v6 camaro, he talked mad shit bout racing for $50 and he’d blow me away... well we’ve raced 8 times now and i’m sittin’ pretty with $400 extra dollars he’d never came close! i have NO mods but i’m about to get a bunch of stuff... all camaro’s think they’re the shit and the v8’s back in the day used to be QUICK, now a days they’re more "fuel efficient" so they ain’t got that pull anymore... v6 all the way but who’s got better gas mileage?? camaro! |

On the whole subject between Camaros and Mustangs i heard a lot of shit talkin about i beat this i beat that.. But did anyone ever think about the possibilty that you raced some pussy with an automatic transmission. Seriously i have 94 firebird 3.4l 5speed and i’ve raced automatic 2000 v6 mustangs and kicked there ass but when i’ve raced a manual v6 mustang and i’ve lost. I mean i am still in college so upgrading is out of the question. So maybe you V6 mustang guys are racing some chick in her automatic camaro ever think that. If you don’t take that into consideration you are an ignorant dumbass. a 99+ mustang will run close with a 96+ camaro
pre 99 mustangs (single port which is what i have) and pre 96 (3.4L)camaros are like 16-17 second cars and arnt event worth talking about if they are unmodded u all need to do some research before posting ur shit and to all u v8 guys bashin on sixers u guys wouldnt have ur cars if it wasnt for the base models because they sell the most... anythings possible on the streets because these cars are mustangs camaros and firedbirds arnt that far apart in speed it depends on the driver at what speed u start and many other things |

I agree without the basic/standard models there would be no GTs or z28. It would be sad to think that a standard model would be just as quick or perform the same as the "Race" model. If that were true why would anyone want to spend $$$ more money on the GTs or the Z28s? You can fix almost any car up to go faster, but it depends on fast you want to go and how much you’re willing to spend. Does anyone remember the Buick Grand National, that car was a V6, and at the time was faster then the V8 Corvette of the same era. |

superior car, from the drive train to the fit and finish. I had two camaro’s (1986 IROC Z
and a 1989 v-6 ) and they both fell apart . explain that! why do you think chevy took time

I have had experience with both mustangs and camaro’s. girl has a 2001 mustang conv. and my mom has a 2000 camaro. They both are v6. My mom’s car is faster and handles better and i do enjoy the t-top better than the conv. I am a ford man ust so u know. I have a 69 ford f100 with a 390 bored .80. My x girlfriends mom had a 2001 wrx impreza. My truck would beat it up until 70 or so, then it was all the impreza after it caught up on my 2 xar lead. |

V6’s are slow in general. I have a 2000 V6 Roush and its pretty slow. I don’t want to destroy your dreams but v6’s are slow when they are stock. If you put an assload of money in your going to be fast. And as for that WRX bullsh*t, I hate imports if you want to drive one then you need to get out of my damn country. Anyways a guy around here has a Z06 that easily whips turbo’d four bangers, displacement always wins, thats just the way it is. |

Stats on the 2000 Mustang v6 are 0-60 in 7.1, and the 2000 camaro has a 0-60 of 7.7 sec. Now, if you look at the facts, the mustang will obviously win. Statistically, the ’00 mustang beats the Camaro by over half a second. And, yes, i AM a mustang owner. I have a 2000 stang sitting in my driveway right now. However, i do sympathize with the people calling the mustang crap. I would trade my mustang for a camaro any day of the week. Do yourself a favor...quit all of this useless ’’blah blah blah my car is faster than yours’’ bullshit. They are stock. If you are willing to leave your car stock, who cares if another car can beat you? It’s only because you don’t have the balls(or money) to do anything to your car. As for the Imports they suck, My Gokart Has more HP than a import when its stock. and the only reason that they slightly keep up besides puting 30 grand into the engine, is that there light as hell. You can go buy an 03 Cobra and not even have to change the tire pressure and run 12s off the dealership floor. |

I own a 2000 5spd 3.8 Camaro. It is now far from stock, but I have to think that the v6 Camaro stock for stock will be close with the v6 Mustang. Mustangs are much better top end cars than an F-body. But they can be tough to get out of the hole. When my car was stock, I pulled on a 95 GT auto on the highway by about half a fender length from 70-110. Now I have
K&N filter, free ram air, air silencer removed, descreened MAF, Accell 8mm wires, Bosch 4+ platinum plugs, 160 thermo, Spec Stage 2 clutch, Tuned PCM, High flow cat, glass pack, 02 simulator, Aluminum driveshaft, Motive 3.73’s with posi, and in about a month I will be installing a turbo kit at 7psi. Some of the people on here seem somewhat knowledgeable about cars, but most don’t understand simple concepts like displacement and power to weight ratio. For those people, get a clue. And for the rest of you, stay safe on the streets. |
