What a great site this is! I’ve looked at a dozen or so "Italian jokes", and it’s always the same. Someone makes a derrogatory ’joke’ that could apply to just about any race that someone out there hates (French, Albanian, black, you name it); then ghw or someone submits a course, generalistic, hate-filled comment; then an Italian complains, then ghw and the Redneck try to justify their comments ("Only about 90% of Italians /actually/ smell of shit - the rest are OK!"); then M Villiani jumps in out of nowhere: "ITALIANS ARE WHITE! STOP IGNORING ME! WHITE POWER! I’M REALLY COOL!" Then a black or arab butts in and says "Fuck you all", and for a little while everyone unites against him; then you all devolve into petty name-calling against each other, get bored, start a new joke, and start all over again...

I agree with matthew if anyone wants to make a valid point debate him like Chill Pill and Reality Check do. Yes they get all fired up against each other at times but for the most part the debates those 3 have going are excellent, great points are made, facts are presented and never has it diluted into name calling and insults. Those 3 people i have constantly followed in their debates and it makes for some absolutely awesome reading. |

Of course we’re white, but ghw AND Villani have both missed the point in talking about whether we’re "white" or not. If by white you mean Caucasian, there are several races with even darker skin than Italians, Greeks, Armenians, Anatolians etc who are still ’white’. The Berbers (the native people who used to live all over North Africa: Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, before the Arabs showd up and drove them to the mountains) and even the Aborigines of Australia, despite having dark skin, are classed by anthropologists as ’Caucasoid’, because they share so many features with us Europeans. |

Actually, I went on a holiday to Morocco for a fornight three years ago. Some friends and I went hiking in the Atlas mountains, and stayed with some very isolated Berber communities. These people live like Hobbits, farming their land in splendid isolation from the sea of Arabs in the rest of the country.
